Goveshy was created for the Art Party Conference on the 23rd November 2013. An alternative political party conference seeing some of the biggest names in British Art attending. Organised by Bob & Roberta Smith and Crescent Arts, the Art Party Conference campaigned for the inclusion of art subjects within the Ebacc. The Goveshy featured ceramic busts of Michael Gove (then secretary of state for education) made from an in-kind donation of Wedgwood Jasperware clay. These were smashed by visitors on the day to reinforce the damage removing art from education would have on the longstanding history and heritage of craft in the UK.
